Studied law at the University of Freiburg. Research Assistant at the University of Freiburg's Institute of Foreign and International Private Law and Research Assistant and fellow of the Max Planck Society at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg.
Doctorate with Prof. Hans-Jörg Albrecht: "Protection of child victims and witnesses in criminal litigation".
